Nerida is a registered Clinical Psychologist, Sex Therapist, and Board-Approved Supervisor based in Newcastle, NSW, with more than 15 years of clinical experience.
She works exclusively in sex and relationship therapy, supporting individuals and couples to navigate the challenges that can arise in their intimate lives and relationships. Known for her warm, genuine, and compassionate approach, Nerida creates a safe, respectful space where clients can talk openly about sexual health concerns that may feel difficult to discuss elsewhere.
Every client begins with a comprehensive sex therapy assessment, allowing Nerida to gain a clear understanding of their unique experiences, goals, and strengths. Together, you will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. Drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Sex Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and mindfulness, Nerida works collaboratively with clients to help them build healthier, more satisfying relationships and improve their sexual wellbeing.
Nerida believes that sex therapy is a collaborative process. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she partners with each client to find practical, meaningful strategies that support lasting change.
Alongside her clinical practice, Nerida is passionate about supporting and educating other mental health professionals. As a Board-Approved Supervisor, she provides supervision to psychologists and sex therapists, helping them develop confidence and expertise in sex therapy. She also helped establish a local sexual health peer support group, where she regularly presents on topics related to sex and relationship therapy. Committed to advancing sexual health education, Nerida enjoys delivering professional development workshops, webinars, and conference presentations, sharing evidence-based knowledge with clinicians across Australia.
